Our Faculty, founded in 1908 within Istanbul University, the most established university of our country, constitutes the beginning of modern dentistry education in our country. Our Faculty, which has been the only institution providing dentistry education for more than half a century, directs the development of contemporary, scientific and evidence-based dentistry in our country. Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry is one of the leading faculties that contributed to the establishment and development of many dental faculties, numbering nearly a hundred today.

In rankings such as URAP, ARWU and EduRank, where the academic performances of world universities are evaluated according to their fields of science, our Faculty is at the top among many faculties both in the world and in Turkey. I would like to thank our valuable academicians, management and all our stakeholders who contributed to this success.

While we train our students to be successful dentists of the future with our experienced and dynamic large educational staff, we also try to provide them with the opportunity to progress in all areas of life by providing a social activity area where they can do cultural, artistic and sports activities.

The aim of our Faculty, which provides evidence-based, up-to-date and scientifically based dentistry education with its deep-rooted history and strong academic staff consisting of respected scientists known in the national and international scientific community; To train professionally equipped, modern dentists who will shape the future, have high ethical values, value people, and contribute to the development of oral and dental health in our country and in the world. Thousands of graduates we have trained so far are today performing very important duties in the field of dentistry in our country and around the world. We are proud of them all.

With the honor and pride of serving as the Dean of Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry, where I graduated, I would like to state that we attach importance to the implementation and advancement of scientific and evidence-based dentistry. It will be our greatest pride to train academics who will contribute to the development of oral and dental health in our country and in the world, and to bring dentists who practice their profession in the light of science, taking into account ethical values, to our country.
